Current Yield on US Treasury Note/Bond (T-Note/T-Bond)
refers to the equivalent interest rate for the
the interest generated for the current year only.
The following formula defines the Current Yield in a very easy-to-understand form:
The formula shows that the Current Yield is the Coupon Rate adjusted by the price discount (or premium) factor.
Note that the Current Yield only looks at the return of investment for the current year (next 12 months).
Current Yield is not widely used.
